WaterOptimizer

Sever's Landing, Palm Harbor, FL

Project Description

Sever's LandingThe Sever’s Landing subdivision is located in Harbor, Florida and is served with reclaimed water from Pinellas County Utilities for irrigation. The typical home within the subdivision are equipped with standard time based irrigation controllers. The WaterOptimizer System was retrofitted in several homes within the subdivision the summer of 2008 with objective of conserving water while maintaining or improving the appearance of existing landscapes. After eighteen (18) months of operation with the WaterOptimizer in Moisture Sensor based mode, the average reduction in water used for irrigation was greater than 60%, thus conserving approximately 560,000 gallons per home per year. Homeowners also report less diseases on lawns and reduction of amount of pesticides needed to control diseases due to overwatering.
